Review: Evil Invaders – In For The Kill

evil-invaders-in-for-the-killJust to keep us all interested in Belgian thrash rapscallions Evil Invaders, they’re throwing four tracks at us on September 30th. In For The Kill consists of two new songs and two live renditions of tracks from their debut Pulses of Pleasure. The release coincides with the beginning of a European tour with Suicidal Angels, Skull Fist, Crisix & Mortillery.

The two new tracks could have fallen off the back of the album, being of the same classic thrash ilk. As I stated way back when I featured Evil Invaders as a Band of the Day, they don’t bring anything new to the table but they do bring excellent versions of dishes we already know. Evil Invaders cook up pure old-school thrash metal without trying to mess around with the recipe. “As Life Slowly Fades” and “Raising Hell” are prime examples. Breakneck beats and riffage, screamed vocals and widdly solos are all present in these non-stop offerings.

Both live recordings aren’t bad, either, though a little on the muffled/bass-y side compared to the studio quality of the new songs. They do give you an idea of the band’s energy in a live environment, though – something we’ve been lucky enough to experience. For your money, you get “Pulses of Pleasure” and “Victim of Sacrifice” which are quality choices.

In For The Kill is out on September 30th. You can pre-order it on Amazon as a [amazon text=Digital download&asin=B01K37H13I].
