A new band with a modern pop-punk sound, Johnny Randale come from Berlin and explode with the kind of energy you’d expect from this genre. They’re a “DIY” act, in that they keep pretty much everything in-house. This means that they record, produce, mix and master their own music as well as create their own videos.

Just out today is the video for “Heroes of the 90s” which I think gives away the ages of the band as anyone of my age would be telling you that the 80s were we better. Still, it’s nice to have some comparison and the song does just that.
There’s a load of pop culture references (Captain Planet, Pokémon, The Hoff…) and it amazes me how a bunch of Germans can sound like they’re from the American midwest when they’re singing to catchy riffs. And that’s what this is – loud, catchy, hook-ridden and historically fairly accurate.
