Exclusive video preview: The Massacre Cave – “An Itchy Finger”

Hebridean metalers The Massacre Cave release brand new video for “An Itchy Finger”, the second video to be released from their debut album, Godlust. Officially it’s out tomorrow, but we’ve got it here for you a whole day early! Scroll down to wrap your eyes and ears around it.

The video was directed, filmed by guitarist/singer Ben Cormack and produced by guitarist/singer Joe Cormack.

Ben tells us:

The video features our lead drummer Pete Colquhoun as the main protagonist. He was chosen as he has the best tattoos but it turns out he’s also the best actor in the band.

The premise of the video is about a man, worried for the safety of his family and plagued by nightmares of murderous intruders, who goes to extreme lengths to protect his house and family.

Guitarist and singer Joe Cormack:

The majority was filmed pre-pandemic. I suppose it’s a bit of a nostalgic trip down memory lane when a face mask was more commonly linked with murderous intruders and masked bandits. A simpler time.

The lyrical content of the song questions the moral and practical use of firearms of any sort for personal protection.

Joe adds:

It’s contentious subject matter, in the US at least, so we thought the video would be best served as a platform to showcase our humour. I think it’s the most hilarious and shocking thing we’ve done. Ben did an amazing job on it.
