Immortal Guardian
Progressive/power metal quartet, Immortal Guardian, hailed by MetalSucks as “seriously epic” – has unveiled a music video for “Clocks”, the third single from their forthcoming concept album Psychosomatic. The clip, which features footage from the last time the extreme progressive/power metal quartet was together before the pandemic broke out, can be viewed below. Osyron
After releasing their critically acclaimed EP Foundations last year, Canadian force Osyron keeps on treating their fans with some very special releases. The song “The Cross” from said EP has now got it’s own, well-deserved music video with hauntingly atmospheric sceneries and a captivating performance.
Commenting on the song’s fascinating and once again historical topic, the band says:
Looking back on colonialism and extreme religious expansion, the early foundations of a civilized Canada began with widespread colonization by the European superpowers of the 16th and 17th centuries. Large populations of both English and French settlers found themselves amongst a free run, ‘lawless society’ of First Nation sub-groups, which gave way to a ruthless chess match of assimilation and warfare; while unfortunately bringing both together many times. This song reflects on how both religion and early extreme nationalism played a role in the branding of an ethnic group of people that were caught off guard by what was to come over the next 4 centuries.

Godeater
Scottish riff-masters Godeater, have just released an anthemic new track entitled “A Pale Shadow”. The single is the second part of the the double-A side with “You Are No Exception” which was released at the end of 2020.
“A Pale Shadow” mixes heavy riffs, sweeping dynamics and guttural vocals, a truly multi faceted track filled with waves of emotion. Vocalist Josh Graham tells us:
Lyrically this song is not a linear part two to ‘You Are No Exception’ , but more of an expansion on the themes it introduces. It primarily reflects on the concept of complacency – as damaging as it can be, it’s also very easy to give into. It stops us from being who we can really be, as individuals and as a collective, so it’s worth remembering that even though change can be tough, it’s worth it.
Ego Kill Talent
Rock band Ego Kill Talent pivoted for most of 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent global shutdown, Ego Kill Talent, like so many others, were forced to get creative – revamping and revising tour and album release plans.
Ego Kill Talent elected to split their full-length The Dance Between Extremes, which was originally due out in May 2020, into three EPs. The Dance EP landed on June 27. The Dance Between EP dropped on December 4. The third, final, and full album release The Dance Between Extremes arrives on March 19. You can pre-save it now.
The band has also shared the video for “Deliverance”. Vocalist Jonathan Dörr tells us:
“Deliverance” was written in the first batch of songs. It has a dark vibe, sonically speaking, which I think is really cool. It comes with big guitars, great choruses, and awesome grooves.
