Rising stars These Wicked Rivers have announced an intimate and electrifying June tour, bringing their unique brand of blues-infused rock to churches across England and Scotland.
The inspiration for The Churches Tour was born in 2022, when the band played at MacArts in Galashiels alongside Hayseed Dixie. Guitarist Arran Day recalls:
We were immediately blown away by the magic of playing rock and roll in a church — the acoustics, the atmosphere, and the warmth of the people inside. That experience sparked the idea for this tour: to bring people together from all walks of life for an evening that feels truly special and entirely ours.
One particularly meaningful stop will be St. Peter’s Church in Belper, a location close to the band’s heart.
Arran explains:
Every tour, we make sure to play a show that connects to home. Belper is where our heart beats, where we rehearse, and where we load up the bandwagon. Playing St. Peter’s feels like the perfect way to celebrate with our Rivers family.
John Hartwell (vocals) adds:
We often call each venue our ‘church’ for the night because of the deep connection we share with our audience. A church should be a place where people come together to celebrate something they believe in — and we feel that energy every time we step on stage. Any true music fan will tell you how spiritual live music feels, and this tour is all about embracing that experience.

These Wicked Rivers are currently gearing up for a European tour this April with blues-rock veterans King King, taking them across the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark for the first time. Their tireless drive to spread the spirit of rock and roll has seen them play to sold-out crowds across the UK and Europe, fueled by their devoted Rivers Family fanbase.
2024 was a landmark year for the band, with their sophomore album Force of Nature debuting at #3 on the UK Rock Chart, and their debut album Eden re-released on vinyl to critical acclaim. Praised by Classic Rock Magazine as “What might’ve happened if Clutch got a bit stoned with Audioslave and Zakk Wylde, then jammed late into the night” and by ourselves: “he kind of rock you should be playing loud enough from your speakers that it rattles your fillings as you drink whisky like it’s going out of fashion”, These Wicked Rivers continue to carve their path as one of the UK’s most exciting modern rock bands.
Their Peace, Love & Lampshades European tour kicks off this April, with tickets going on sale Friday, 7th February – get yours here.
