A couple of weeks before Moshville Oktoberfest, Ricky and myself had already started throwing around ideas for our third gig. The one which we quickly formed and kept coming back to was to put on a more rock-focused night – given we’ve served the metal side of our audience we felt it was only fair we appeal to those on the other side of the spectrum. Thus, we have this year’s event – Rocktoberfest.
With a heavy focus on rock, we’ve got seven great bands coming to Glasgow’s Ivory Black on 19th October. We’ll be announcing the half-dozen who’ll be joining our headliners on the night over the coming weeks and months. And this year’s headliners? Well, given we’re a Glasgow-based site and we’ve always had our gigs in Glasgow, it’s about time we had a hometown headliner and we knew it had to be Six Year Silence. Having recently packed out Ivory Blacks on their own headline show, we can’t wait to host them along with some other excellent names.

Formerly known as Uproar (which is when I last saw them), Six Year Silence have been a fixture of the Glasgow scene for a number of years with their blend of hard rock and metal and will make for a perfect finale to Rocktoberfest! The band’s line-up has gone through some changes in the last few years and from what Ricky said about their show last month, this is them at their best and we know they’ll deliver in October. There’s also a whole lot of musical kudos to be found in the band with the members having shared stages with the likes of Alter Bridge, Skillet, Thin Lizzy and other household names and it’s clear that’s rubbed off on them here.
Rocktoberfest tickets are on sale now via our new ticketing platform, Skiddle, a trusted name in the ticketing space and will be our ticket provider going forward on all future Moshville Times events. Tickets are £18 (+ booking fee) and for seven bands, that works out at less than £2.60 a band!
