Unburier hail from the very deep south west of England and formed together as a band in 2019. They were certainly not slow in releasing some prime technical thrash/death metal with their first demo Thrasher’s Gold. This demo certainly lived up to its title with quality thrash songs like “Commandment” certainly deserving every thrash minded metalheads attention.
After a couple of line-up changes, the three piece have a more solidified roster since 2021 and this certainly shows in the recording of their debut EP Twisted Existence. There are still some thrash elements, however, Unburier have also introduced a much more death metal influence onto their sound. The riffs on “Structured Genocide” for example are simply outstanding and showing a new direction for the band. Unburier are busy recording their new material and I for one am very much looking forward to listening and playing their new tracks.

Having garnered a reputation for playing gigs locally, they started playing further afield culminating in winning their Metal to the Masses final in Somerset. Unburier played Bloodstock in 2022 and certainly gained new fans with their new direction while never forgetting their thrash roots. In October of this year, they are supporting Tortured Demon around the UK and are playing Moshville Oktoberfest 2023 at Ivory Blacks on October 7th.
