Beermageddon announce entire 2023 lineup

Beermageddon is metal’s best kept secret!

After a decade of successively sold out years, and having cemented the Beermageddon name as Britain’s best 100% independent, and 100% grassroots festival, Beermageddon returns for their 11th year over the August Bank Holiday weekend 2023. Here’s the skinny from the festival folk themselves…

Forming back in 1977, the Sunday night headliners have had a huge influence on the music we love for decades, a band we have wanted on the Beermageddon lineup for many years and 2023 is the year we make it happen as we welcome… Discharge!

The hardcore punk legends span many of the extreme genres having laid the foundations from thrash to D-beat! Beermageddon has always been known for bringing legends to the stage and bands do not get any more legendary than Discharge who will close the festival in style on the Sunday evening.

No strangers to the Beermageddon stage, and booked to headline after their set in 2022, we welcome back for a full headline set, the German thrash machine Godslave.

Following an exceptional high octane set at last years event, we were all in agreement it was long overdue for Godslave to take the headline slot on the Saturday evening at this year’s Beermageddon. You all know what to expect, thrash metal at its finest, Godslave have been firm favourites with the Beermageddon crowd for many years, and this year they give you the headline set you all deserve!

With 2022 being the 10th Anniversary we did not have a vote for the Friday headliner, but keeping with tradition we wanted to book a band who had played the festival before, and it seemed the perfect opportunity to welcome back extreme metallers and Beermageddon favourites Krysthla.

Having first appeared in 2017 Krysthla cemented themselves as firm favourites with the Beermageddon festival goers. With a beautiful mix of brutality and the extreme all added to a whole heap of groove Krysthla will close the Friday Night party at Beermageddon 2023!

Hailing from deepest, darkest Suffolk, Beermageddon welcomes to the lineup a metal band that carry a wealth of experience and professionalism Ghosts of Atlantis.

Bursting onto the metal scene in 2019 Ghosts of Atlantis are all seasoned performers featuring both present and past members of Devilment, Failed Humanity, The Conflict Within and Cold Lazarus. Sonically, the band crosses many genres and lyrical styles, from poetic spoken word elements, full choirs, and memorable choruses to guttural destruction carried forth through the main vocals.

Ghosts Of Atlantis have also racked up an impressive list of achievements. After the successful release of the debut album 3.6.2.4, the band received exceptional reviews from the likes of Metal Hammer, Knotfest, Devolution Magazine, Prog Magazine and Powerplay Magazine. No strangers to the big stages both home and abroad Ghosts Of Atlantis arrive to lay waste to Beermageddon 2023!

On the August Bank Holiday Beermageddon is excited to welcome London based Romanian black metallers Tableau Mort. Tableau Mort draw on a wide variety of influences that can be heard through the music.

Whilst the influence of the Romanian Orthodox Church is at the front of the bands imagery, the bands members all bring aspects to the sound from doom to hardcore. Having graced the stages of some of the UK’s premier metal festivals Tableau Mort make their way to the sleepy village of Stoke Prior and let the black metal reign supreme!

After playing their debut show at Beermageddon 2019 the circle is complete as we see a welcome return for Hands of Attrition. Back in 2019 we booked Hands of Attrition for their debut show on the strength of their first single, and it was clear the band were destined for great things, now four years later, with their debut album receiving critical acclaim HoA are back!

Currently working on their sophomore album the planets have aligned and the timing is perfect for Hands of Attrition to make a triumphant return to Beermageddon.

Is there the ideal recipe for cooking up thrash and groove to perfection? Well if there is only one band could nail it. Swapping the kitchen for the stage Beermageddon presents Thrashatouille!

A theatrical buffet combining elements of Killswitch Engage style riffing, vocals inspired by the likes of Heaven Shall Burn and a rhythm section tight enough to shake foundations. Dusted with a garnish of chef-related lyrical content! We caught Thrashatouille at Smashfest last year and had a feast of a time, so they had to be included in the menu of Beermageddon 2023.

Just one sentence as an application.

“Grumpy four piece band from a quaint Surrey town full of alien tripods. Well armed with gnarly riffs and posh accents”

How could we not book Gutlocker?

One thing is for certain these groove metallers from the slum of Woking have been making a big impact on stages across the UK since the release of their debut EP Cry Havok in 2018, and their debut full length To Be Alive was one of my top albums of last year! Bringing their big groovy riffs, fit to level buildings to Beermageddon catch Gutlocker on stage this August bank holiday.

Another face melting band we had the honour to be in front of at Smashfest last year and had to bring to the Beermageddon stage are Staffordshire thrashers Hellfekted.

Hailing from Stoke on Trent, Hellfekted will be bringing their new age blackened thrash to the Beermageddon stage, snapping necks by forging the old hard hitting riffs with the new cross of style! Hellfekted will be sure to blow you away with their energy, style and in-your-face aggression which will leave you stomping the ground at Beermageddon 2023.

Opening up the Friday night we welcome to to the party a 5 piece bunch of gays and theys with an attitude problem. You have been warned as Beermageddon brings you Bitchin’ Hour!

We first came across Bitchin’ Hour at last years Sonic Rock Solstice and loved the full on in your face rock n’ Roll attitude! And let us tell you Bitchin’ Hour bring a lot of fun to the live stage. The Friday night at Beermageddon is party night, and we cannot think of a better band to kick off the party in style, deliciously down and dirty rock and roll arrives with Bitchin’ Hour at Beermageddon 2023.

Opening up the Sunday at Beermageddon we have a very special performance courtesy of Archierophant: High Mass.

The musical genius of multi instrumentalist Lewis Börthwick will be opening up the Sunday’s live music with a very special solo set covering some of his early Archierophant Dungeon Synth compositions and the recent High Mass EP, a stunning dungeon synth, crossover classical magnum opus by Archierophant.

This is a not to be missed unique set made for Beermageddon. We are very excited to have this very special performance at Beermageddon as Archierophant: High Mass arrives at this years festival over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

Although quite a new name as a band the band members are no strangers to the Beermageddon stage, we have closely followed their evolution and as part of their new incarnation we welcome to the stage at Stoke Prior in 2023 Dead Flesh.

The next chapter in these musicians’ journey provides a most magnificent helping of crushing, brutal, extreme and melodic deathcore. Dead Flesh released their debut self titled single in August of last year and on the strength of that we knew they had to come to Beermageddon at the first opportunity. Dead Flesh will be bringing the next generation of their travels in metal to the Beermageddon stage on the August Bank Holiday 2023!

Extreme and heavy groove a band who have an unrivalled ferocity on stage, Beermageddon welcomes to the lineup… Chaplain!

A young band from the East Midlands who are making a very big name for themselves on the underground metal scene, Chaplain supply heavy groove metal that will definitely get necks snapping. Renowned for their stage presence and fierce live performances Chaplain join Beermageddon this August Bank Holiday.

From Old England’s heart a new Devil is spawned! Crushing slabs of old fashioned death metal, raw and primal, churning and evil courtesy of Pemphigoid.

The name of a rare autoimmune blistering skin disease, Pemphigoid was chosen as the band’s moniker. And this medical theme features prominently in the bands lyrics. Songs telling stories of disease, mental illness, surgery and various clinical institutionalised horrors. Originally booked to appear in 2020, Pemphigoid contracted Covid just before the rescheduled dates in 2021 so bring their brutality to the stage at Beermageddon 2023.

Old school thrashing excellence! We are pleased to announce joining the lineup at Beermageddon 2023 we welcome Helgrind.

The pure unadulterated face ripping power of thrash metal unleashed live upon Beermageddon, Helgrind supply an old school flavour harking back to the glory days of the genre, yet brought bang up to date where the harsh and the melodious reside in glorious thrashing harmony. Originally booked to appear in 2020, due to a road accident Helgrind had to drop out for recuperation so we are so pleased to see the band back to full health and ready to bring all the thrash to the stage at Beermageddon 2023!

Bringing old school death metal, from right here in Birmingham, the birthplace of metal, Beermageddon welcomes the brutality of Absolution!

After a close to 20 year break the band burst back onto stages eight years ago! In 2019 we caught Absolution live, our jaws hit the floor, and knew their brand of old school death would be perfect for Beermageddon. Originally booked to appear in 2020 they were another band who contracted Covid just before the rescheduled dates in 2021. It’s been a long three years but finally we bring Absolution to the stage at Beermageddon 2023.

A multi-dimensional gathering of apocalypse survivors bringing their tales to this dimension with metal!, Beermageddon welcomes Incursion.

The trio recant their tales and adventures through the apocalypse with a high energy show with plenty of crowd interaction and biscuits, Incursion are a band of misfits that have fun with crowds in their own unique way! Originally booked to appear in 2020, the band (you guessed it) contracted Covid just before the rescheduled dates in 2021. It’s finally time to bring Incursion to the stage at Beermageddon 2023!

A first for Beermageddon, never before have we booked a band we haven’t even heard! This accolade goes to the mysterious supergroup hailing from The Midlands, Concussion!

There is very little we can tell you about the brand new project heading to this years festival, we know they are seasoned musicians and performers, we know they graced the our stage in various guises… That is all we can reveal! Taking the opening slot on Saturday, right after our toast to the fallen, Concussion will take the stage for the first time ever. The debut show of this anonymous band is not to be missed.

Beermageddon runs across the 25th, 26th and 27th with tickets costing ÂŁ50 from WWW.BEERMAGEDDON.CO.UK
