Winter Storm announces first set of bands for 2020

We did it. We made it to the end of January! And it comes with some excellent news – the first Winter Storm 2020 announcement. Nestled right at the end of the year when the UK faces a deluge of tours, it’s become a firm favourite for Glasgow and the west’s rock scene and indeed, it brings people from all over the UK, Europe and even further afield. Now in their fifth year, it’s a line-up more varied than ever, once again bringing those older names and bands of the here and now (and the future) under one roof in Troon. Celebrating the landmark 1980, there’s a good helping of NWOBHM and Winter Storm’s master of ceremonies, Tom Russell, is not only back once more, he’s also celebrating 40 years of broadcasting. So, without further ado, let us look at who’s treading the boards of the main stage:

  • Collateral
  • Gin Annie
  • Glass Tiger
  • Hardline
  • Hollowstar
  • Mason Hill
  • The New Roses
  • Weapon UK
  • Witchfynde
  • Vardis

A number of bands new to Troon and some making a welcome return, there’s something there for everyone. Naturally, the outlier is Glass Tiger but it’s a safe assumption to say that it’s going to work. Meanwhile, the South Beach Sessions stage is far from neglected and there’s a swathe of bands set to ply their wares in the far more intimate surroundings:

  • Beth Blade
  • Chemia
  • Empyre
  • King Creature
  • Nitroville
  • Rigid Soul
  • Scarlet Rebels
  • She Burns Red
  • Sons of Liberty
  • Tantura Vultura
  • Theia
  • Wildheart

There’s still 300 days until the festival is underway and the last of the tickets are now on sale. Advance tickets sold out in December and as such, the last 200 tickets and accommodation packages are guaranteed to go quick. Get them here before they’re sold out and we await with baited breath with everyone else to see who else will be descending on Troon!
