Best Classic Rock Bands Touring in 2020

There are a number of incredible classic rock bands, but many of them are no longer around, or else aren’t touring and have no plans to tour. So, what are the best bands on tour this year?

The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are frequently seen as not just the best classic rock band, but the greatest rock band of all time. Their music has been beloved for generations, they’ve produced more than two dozen studio albums, and they’ve been touring almost nonstop for decades. Oh, and then there’s the iconic duo, frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Mick Jagger, in particular, is known for putting on a great show — he’s even inspired songs like “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5.

Although official tour dates and locations have yet to be released, the Stones are planning to go on tour this year. They are expected to release an official city lineup for a summer tour sometime this spring (most likely in March). There are even rumors that the band is planning on releasing a new album this year, so that could be a big reason behind the delayed announcement.

The Who

After the Stones, the Who are often considered to be at the top of the list for the greatest rock bands of all time. With a singer like Roger Daltrey and a guitarist and songwriter like Pete Townshend, it’s certainly hard not to be great. The Who also happens to put on a killer live performance, making them one of the best classic bands to see. They even have a new album, WHO, which was released last fall.

The Who have announced additional tour dates for their 2020 tour. They’ll start off in the UK in February, playing numerous dates before they head to the US. Some of their UK stops include: Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Birmingham, Nottingham, Liverpool, and London. Their US tour will start on April 21 in Hollywood, Florida and end in May in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some other US stops include: New Orleans, Louisiana; Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; and Denver, Colorado.

Guns ‘N Roses

Guns ‘N Roses is one of the best-selling bands of all time. Leading the way are two of the most recognizable figures in the rock world: lead guitarist Slash and lead vocalist Axl Rose. They’ve been highly influential in the rock world and beyond, so much so that they’ve even supplied the naming of the villains for Mega Man 5 and they have a Guns ‘N Roses slot game featuring a huge soundtrack of their biggest hits.

After they perform in Miami on Jan. 31, they’ll be embarking on an international tour from March until June, including playing at several Lollapalooza locations. Some of the cities they’ll be stopping in include: Mexico City, Mexico; San Jose, Costa Rica; Lima, Peru; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Bogota, Colombia; Lisbon, Portugal; London, England; Vienna, Austria; Warsaw, Poland; Prague, Czech Republic; and Dublin, Ireland.

Aerosmith

Last on this list is Aerosmith, another one of the best rock bands around. They’ve been regularly releasing albums and touring since they formed in the ‘70s, and they have some of the most popular rock songs of all time like “Dream On” and “Walk This Way.” At centre stage is Steven Tyler, who’s known for his big stage personality. So expect them to also put on a great show this year.

From now until June, Aerosmith will be playing more than a dozen shows in Las Vegas, Nevada at Park Theater at Park MGM. On June 13 they’ll begin their international tour in Milan, Italy. After that, other stops on their tour are Zurich, Switzerland; Prague, Czech Republic; Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Krakow, Poland; London, England; and Budapest, Hungary.

If you love classic rock, then you can’t miss one of the above bands perform this year. See one of them in your city or plan a vacation to catch one of them abroad to make the show even better!
