Batushka replace Dimmu Borgir on Bloodstock bill

Bloodstock is disappointed to announce that Dimmu Borgir are forced to cancel their appearance at this weekend’s festival due to circumstances beyond their control. Dimmu Borgir’s statement reads as follows:

Dimmu Borgir regrets to inform you that we have to cancel our appearance at this year´s Bloodstock due to illness.  The doctors have ordered full rest for a minimum of one week, and instructed that performing a show this weekend would increase the situation.  We are truly sorry about this, as we had been looking forward enormously to returning to Bloodstock this year.  Enjoy the festival, we will see you again soon! – DIMMU BORGIR

In a last minute dash to find a replacement, Bloodstock will be moving Queensryche up into the Sunday special guest slot and will be bringing in Batushka underneath them into a 3rd on the bill position. Batushka inform us:

Bloodstock, we’re returning to bring you sorrow and mourning in its full glory! We’re bringing you only bitter regrets! Celebrate with us the Liturgy of Death.  Experience it until it breaks your heart. Here we come in pain, fear, and scarcity!  It’s time for the Great Vespers!  Bloodstock!  We will soak your land with death!

Emerging from the shadows of eastern Poland back in 2015, black metal band Batushka have established themselves as one of the modern era’s most powerful and evocative outfits. Harnessing the fire and fury of arcane black metal and channelling it through the reverberant grandeur of ancient rituals of worship, the band’s debut album Litourgiya stood apart from the extreme metal hordes: a monument to originality, depth and dark mysticism that swiftly cast its spell over the metal underground and beyond.

Hangin’ on ‘til the last minute to buy your ticket?  You can do so right up to and during the festival weekend.  However, tickets purchased online at the ticket store now will be couriered to the Bloodstock box office for collection on site.  Weekend tickets with camping are £145 (+ booking fee) with children’s weekend tickets only £35 (+ bkg fee).  Kids under 4 go free!  Adult one day tickets are £65 (+ bkg fee) and child day tickets £20 (+ bkg fee), available at http://bloodstock.seetickets.com.  If you prefer to buy on the gate, weekend tickets increase to £155 for adults and £40 for children.  Adult Day tickets increase to £70 on the day and Child Day tickets to £25. Car parking can be pre-booked (full weekend parking £16, day £12) or paid for on arrival (weekend £20, day £15), and for the first time this year, motorbikes have their own designated free parking (over by the VIP car park).
