Damnation Festival 2019 adds four more acts

Damnation always gives a good lineup and this year is shaping up to be no exception, with a more-than-decent array of acts waiting to send your neck muscles into spasm. Today, the festival announce a further four bands to add to that bill. Fourteen more are still to come, so keep checking back for more!

Celtic metal standard bearers, Primordial, and death metal’s hottest property, Venom Prison, will play this year’s Damnation.

They’ll be joined at Leeds University Union on Saturday, November 2, by Norway’s extreme metallers Blood Red Throne and the blackened blastbeats of Voices. The four latest additions bolster a bill topped by the mighty Opeth, with a further 14 bands still to be announced over four stages.

Primordial’s AA Nemtheanga said:

It’s with great pleasure we announce our taking part in Damnation. This will be an exclusive UK show and we will pull out a few curious volumes off the shelves and dust them down.

Kerrang! cover stars Venom Prison added:

Our 2017 tour of Animus and our performance at Damnation Festival was a definite highlight in the life of Venom Prison to date.  This year will see us return to Damnation and bring Samsara to one of the best indoor festivals in the world. The grind is real.

Blood Red Throne are also looking forward to making their mark on their Damnation debut. The band said:

We can’t wait to return to UK, and this time with a new album, Fit To Kill, to shove in your ears. We will perform a good mix of old and new tunes, and of course deliver the same mayhem performance as always! Blood Red Throne brings Damnation to Leeds!

And Voices added:

Voices return to our northern shrine, our most adored festival. Taking us out of the depths of south east London, Damnation promises to be a special day of the most challenging and incredibly moving music and Voices are honoured to join the proceedings. Perhaps we shall premier some new material for the first time at Damnation 2019.

The line up for Damnation Festival 2019 so far is: Opeth, Primordial, Venom Prison, Blood Red Throne, Birds In Row, Lord Dying, Jo Quail, Imperial Triumphant, Voices, Wheel, Alunah, Dawn Ray’d, and Godeater.
