Bloodstock 2018 is all set to be the biggest yet, with tickets moving fast and set to sell out again in advance. If you want to join us at Catton Park in August, don’t delay in grabbing your tickets! With luck, this’ll be the first time the whole Moshville Times Crew will make it down for the whole Thursday party – assuming the traffic doesn’t bugger thing up like 2016… The countdown is now on, with just 12 weeks to go!
If you’re arriving early on Thursday to set up your pitch, Bloodstock kick off the festival arrivals night in heavy duty style with five awesome bands on the Sophie Lancaster stage.
Arkona headline the party, bringing their pagan/folk infused tunes all the way from Moscow, Russia. The band’s current album, Khram was released earlier this year. Check out “Shtorm” taken from that release. Portsmouth death metallers and 2009 ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ alumni Bloodshot Dawn also land a slot. Watch their official video for “Shackled”, taken from the recently released Reanimation album. Bringing their bagpipes to the bill are folk metal outfit Skiltron. Check out the track “All Men Die” from current album Legacy of Blood and get a taster of their sound.
Riff-tastic rockers Fire Red Empress also grab a place on the bill. Their debut album, Black Morphine arrived last year, featuring “Dead Nature”. Lastly, Leeds doomsters Hundred Year Old Man open the festival proceedings! The Leeds sludgesters recently released their debut album, Breaching which you can stream or buy on their bandcamp page.
