The Very ‘Eavy Festival in Stadskanaal, the Netherlands, has become a household name for many in the area and beyond. Lovers of old school hard rock and heavy metal have visited for six years, every April, from near and far.
Organizer Hugo Koch manages to create a great line-up every year, but he points out that over the years it’s getting difficult, the bands that he likes to see himself and are affordable for his festival have all appeared on the festival’s stage.
This started out as a hobby, but now requires so much energy and time, Hugo Koch has decided that the Festival this year, on 21 and 22 April, will be the last edition. According to Koch:
The seventh edition of the Very ‘Eavy Festival, has got to be a winner. With names like Holocaust, Warrior, Stranger, Tokyo Blade, BlackSlash, Overruled, Night Demon, Witch Cross, Lovell’s Blade, Hitten, Vardis and headliners the British Angel Witch we go out with a huge bang.
With fewer than 80 tickets left, the festival seems to become a success indeed. For more information and pre-sale tickets, at €35 head to the festival website.
