For a genre that was apparently dead and buried a decade ago, rock and metal seems to be launching more and more festivals each year. Along with this weekend’s Fort Fest for the lighter end of the scale, Heavy Scotland and Lords of the Land north of the border for the heavier and the increasing number of Hard Rock Hell events popping up across the UK we can add Bristol Deathfest.
Today the organisers dropped the posters with the first bands on, along with ticket info and so on…
Defeated Sanity, Hour of Penance, Nader Sadek, Kraanium, Cytotoxin and Epicardiectomy will all perform exclusively in the UK at Bristol Deathfest with a host of other bands.
Bristol Deathfest is a 2 day indoor death metal festival held at The Bierkeller in Bristol over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April 2017. Twelve bands have just been announced securing this as one of the must attend festivals of 2017 for any fan of Death Metal.
Following the success of the 2016’s double-EP album release Disposal of the Dead / Dharmata kings of brutality, Defeated Sanity will headline the first night at Bristol Deathfest. They will be performing Disposal of the Dead in it’s entirety as well as some classic songs while the tightly oiled machine that is Hour of Penance will close the festival on Sunday night. Both headline artists will be performing exclusively in the UK at Bristol Deathfest.
Jacob Schmidt (Defeated Sanity) issued the following statement:
Next April we will be returning to the UK for the first time since 2013! It’s been too long of a time and we are super stoked to see all you sick fucks again at Bristol Deathfest!!!
Nader Sadek will also be appearing exclusively in the UK for the first time ever at Bristol Deathfest. This unique performance will feature Derek Roddy (ex-Hate Eternal/Nile, Serpents Rise), Destructhor (Myrkskog, ex-Morbid Angel/Zyklon), George Maier (Pestilence), Sarah Jezebel Deva (ex-Cradle of Filth/Therion) and Mahmud Gecekusu (Perversion).
Kraanium and Epicardiectomy will be bringing the slam hammers for two heavy exclusive sets. If that’s not enough, radioactive, technically precise, Cytotoxin will be arriving from Germany to make a total of six UK exclusive shows all at Bristol Deathfest.
Not to be outshone by international acts, the UK’s answer to Dying Fetus meets Behemoth, Dyscarnate and Scottish melodic and technical fiends, Man Must Die will both be making appearances. Necrosis, Scordatura, Body Harvest and Ascaris complete the announcement and represent the best of the UK underground scene. 2 day tickets are a bargain at only £33 and with news of a warm up party on the Friday night before the festival, Bristol Deathfest needs to be on every Death Metal fan’s 2017 gig calendar.
