Hayseed Dixie rocking the UK in Jan/Feb 2015

Hayseed Dixie logoThe world’s premiere Bluegrass/Rock crossover act is due to release a new album – Hair Down to my Grass – in January and will follow it with a tour around the British mainland.

Definitely not a live show to be missed and you can expect to see the band in the bar after every performance. And before it. If they had the chance they’d do the show in the bar (actually, I saw them do this once – including duck-walking on the actual bar top) some years ago.

Here are the dates from their website, as far as they stand today. There may be one or two more to come.

The Hayseed Dixie 2015 Hair Down To My Grass Tour, UK section:

January 15 – Thursday – Reading, England – Sub 89
because Reading has fantastic curry

January 16 – Friday – Northampton, England – Roadmender
because Bauhaus is from Northampton

January 17 – Saturday – Cambridge, England – The Junction
because Cambridge ideas move the damn world

January 18 – Sunday – Norwich, England – The Waterfront
because it should still be called Norwich Union and we like pork. A lot!

January 20 – Tuesday – Warwick, England – The Copper Rooms
because the Warwick castle kicks proper ass

January 21 – Wednesday – Brighton, England – Concorde 2
because even the fish and chips are artsy here and culture makes us smile

January 22 – Thursday – Bristol, England – The Fleece
because The Fleece is the best old-school rock venue in Western Europe

January 23 – Friday – Port Talbot, Wales – Princess Royal Theatre
because WALES, damn it!

January 24 – Saturday – Poole, England – Mister Kyps
because 2 hours on a frozen beach is better than none

January 25 – Sunday – Totnes, England – Totnes Arts Centre
because the singer bought bespoke shoes there last time

January 27 – Tuesday – Derby, England – The Flowerpot
because Dave Attenborough lives in Derby

January 28 – Wednesday – Liverpool, England – Academy
NO SLEEP TILL LIVERPOOL

January 29 – Thursday – Stockton, England – ARC

January 31 – Saturday – Newcastle Upon Tyne, England – Academy
because we’re finally playing a Saturday night in Newcastle, and in January even – Newcastle ladies, do show us your best swimsuits!

February 1 – Sunday – Uppermill, England – Civic Hall
because the Peak District has some of the best motorbiking roads in Britain, even in February

February 2 – Monday – Sheffield, England – The Leadmill
because don’t you want me baby pour some sugar on me this is hardcore so so beautiful

February 3 – Tuesday – Blackburn, England – King George’s Hall
because the singer’s best friend in high school was named Charlie Blackburn

February 5 – Thursday – Stroud, England – Subscription Rooms
because we have sold out every time we’ve played in Stroud. And the Thai curry is excellent.

February 6 – Friday – London, England – Brooklyn Bowl at the O2
because everybody has to live in London at some point in their lives, just to be able to say that they have and not feel like they missed something crucial, and they should have the opportunity to see some Rockgrass while they’re getting on with that, so as to not actually miss anything crucial.

February 7 – Saturday – Wolverhampton, England – Slade Rooms
because Slade rock. And so does Wolverhampton. Every single time.
