Sweet Savage drop new album ‘BANG’ – a thunderous return to form

Northern Ireland’s metal pioneers Sweet Savage are back—and they’re not holding back. Today, earMUSIC proudly unleashes BANG, the band’s brand-new album that fuses raw NWOBHM energy with industrial grit and punk fire.

Formed in Belfast in 1979 by Ray Haller (vocals/bass) and future Dio/Def Leppard shredder Vivian Campbell, Sweet Savage helped shape the first wave of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Their legacy was immortalised when Metallica covered their track “Killing Time” on the B-side of “The Unforgiven.”

Now, with BANG, the band reignites that legacy—delivering a sound that’s both a nod to their roots and a leap into a heavier, more modern frontier.

Joining Haller, Marty McCloskey (drums), and Phil Edgar (guitar) is none other than Simon McBride—currently wielding the axe for Deep Purple—who lends his talents on guitar and production duties.

With BANG, Sweet Savage prove they’re not just part of metal history—they’re still writing it.
