Alberto Rigoni & Michael Manring announce new instrumental prog rock/ambient album – third bassist to join the line-up

Internationally renowned bassists Alberto Rigoni (Italy – soloist, BAD As, Vivaldi Metal Project, ex-Twinspirits) and Michael Manring (USA – solo, Alex Skolnic, Steve Morse) have revealed they are working together again on a brand-new instrumental progressive rock/ambient-oriented album.

Following the critical acclaim of their previous collaboration, Grains of Sand, this new project will once again push the boundaries of bass-driven music. As with their last record, the focus will remain firmly on the bass guitar, showcasing its full expressive potential and sonic versatility, alongside powerful and intricate drumming.

This time, however, the duo are introducing something unique: a third bassist will join the line-up, adding a fresh dimension to the sound. The name of the guest bassist – as well as the drummer – will be revealed soon.

“We’re exploring new sonic landscapes and interplay between three distinct bass voices,” says Rigoni. “It’s going to be something very special,” adds Manring.

While there is no official release date yet, one or two singles are expected before the end of the year.

Stay tuned for more news, exclusive previews, and the unveiling of the full line-up.
