Montreal and Stockholm-based rising stars Voidchaser are back with their latest offering, “Trust”, the lead single from their forthcoming EP of the same name. The track features a stunning guest performance by none other than Jim Grey, the celebrated vocalist of Australian progressive metal powerhouse Caligula’s Horse. Following the success of their previous release, Solace, which amassed over 200,000 streams on Spotify since its release in September 2024, Voidchaser have solidified their place in the international progressive metal scene. Praised as “rising stars of international progressive death metal” by Riffage and “an excellent new voice in the ever-brimming Montreal prog and metal scene” by The Progspace, Voidchaser’s new single promises to deliver another dose of their signature mix of intensity, emotion, and technical brilliance.
Vocalist and guitarist Chad Bernatchez shared insights into the thematic depth of the track, saying:
Trust, the single, represents the hopes of being accepted by surrendering your sense of self-identity and blindly trusting the judgment of the person you are trying to gain acceptance from.

Reflecting on the collaboration with Jim Grey, Voidchaser bassist Jici LG commented:
While working on the pre-production of this single, we came up with the idea of creating a vocal duo dynamic that would weave into a beautiful harmony. Being influenced by Caligula’s Horse, Jim Grey naturally came to mind, and we reached out to him right after his Charcoal Grace World Tour. Collaborating with someone of his extraordinary talent and experience feels like a huge milestone for us. It’s also a sign that Voidchaser is stepping into something bigger, and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead.
The upcoming EP Trust marks the final chapter in the conceptual saga Voidchaser began with their debut EP, Odyssey (released February 2024), and continued with Solace. The EP’s three songs—each featuring a renowned guest artist—delve into themes of despair, resilience, and redemption as they follow the story of Voidchaser’s protagonist, lost in the void of space:
