It’s hard to believe that Ten Ton Slug have been around so long, played so many great shows (main stage at Metal Days, anyone?) and haven’t released a full album yet. Well, that’s about to be corrected with the weight of Colossal Oppressor landing on turntables on May 1st. The album will be out digitally, on CD and on vinyl – and you can pre-order the physical formats as of right now. You can also stream the first single from the album, “Mindless and Blind”. Scroll down and hit play!
Colossal Oppressor follows up from the band’s two EPs Brutal Gluttonous Beast and Blood & Slime. It weighs in at over 40 minutes and is a natural progression in terms of songwriting and dynamics, but obviously features their huge trademark riffs and pummeling drums. Featuring guest vocals from Karl Willetts (Memoriam / Bolt Thrower) on the song “Brutus”, Colossal Oppressor is the result of five years work, distilling all that effort into 8 tracks of unrelenting heaviness.
I believe this calls for an… OUGH! Though I have issues with the artwork…
