Rock Legends to headline Hyde Park
Dig out your stovepipe hat and dust off your air guitar. You are going to need them this summer in Hyde Park when Guns N’ Roses headline this iconic summer event. The band will headline American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Friday, June 30th, 2023. This will be a first for Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, the classic line-up of one of America’s most influential rock bands. They head to London for the tenth anniversary of the Hyde Park event.
Tickets still available
Tickets went on sale on December 7th, but there are still packaged tickets available. They will set you back a pretty penny, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Who knows when one of the biggest-selling groups in rock’s history will grace these shores again?
Award-winning, chart-topping superstars
Guns N’ Roses have sold over 100 million records worldwide and are one of the biggest names in music history. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. They have had two No 1 and four Top 5 albums on the Billboard Charts. They have never managed to bag a number one single spot on the UK’s Official Charts, but they have produced some monster hits. They have won AMA, Billboard and MTV awards.
Discography
In 1987 their debut album, ‘Appetite for Destruction,’ received critical acclaim and became the best-selling debut album of all time in the US. If featured singles like “Welcome to The Jungle”, “Paradise City”, and “Sweet Child O’ Mine”. Their music has also become legendary for later generations as it has featured in video games and was incredibly popular as part of the Guitar Hero console game, which came with a fake guitar. Fans can also play along to their hits on the Guns N’ Roses official online slot game. This rocking game is by NetEnt, whose slots feature the best casino bonuses with no deposit.
All energy
Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan may be small in number, but they have the energy of one hundred bands at once. Their live shows are epic. Guns N’ Roses have been touring in Australia. A gig in Glasgow earlier this year was postponed indefinitely, but they are confirmed for London’s American Express presents BST Hyde Park.
Tenth-anniversary line-up
The line-up for the tenth-anniversary event next summer is nothing short of colossal. Previously announced acts included Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Take That, Billy Joel, Blackpink and P!nk, with Gwen Stefani as a special guest. That is just the billing so far; more acts are due to be announced.
Looking back at 2022
Last year’s BST Hyde Park had three unforgettable weekends of music. Elton John was among the star-studded performers and brought his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour to the Royal Park. As if that wasn’t enough rock royalty enough, The Rolling Stones did two incredible sell-out nights and paid an emotional tribute to the late Charlie Watts. Global star Adele came home to London for two shows that featured all female line-ups. The Sunday night slots had an American rock vibe when Eagles and Pearl Jam rocked out in Hyde Park. The final night was closed by new romantic giants, Britain’s best-loved eighties band, Duran Duran. They delivered a singalong smash hit after singalong smash hit.
Guns N’ Roses back on the road
Slash quit the band in 1996, but Guns N’ Roses managed to patch up the personal tensions between him and Axl Rose well enough to see the band back together. They launched their long-awaited reunion tour in April 2016. There was a show in Hollywood and an appearance in Las Vegas, and they were part of California’s Coachella festival. Joining Rose, Slash and McKagan are Richard Fortus on guitar, Frank Ferrer on drums, Dizzy Reed on keys and Melissa Reese, also on keyboards.
