New Moons XVI charity album for Reclaim These Streets out in February

2021 has highlighted how much work is still needed to be done in increasing women’s safety; whether that be in live events, at work, or even just walking home at night. New Moons XVI is a compilation curated by The Music Federation’s Head of Promotions, Jasmine Hodge to celebrate women, LGBTQ+ and non-binary artists in music with one objective: to raise money for Reclaim These Streets. With 100% of funds going to the vital organisation, the compilation is a showcase of the incredible talent the music industry has to offer whilst supporting some of its finest female, LQBTQ+ and non-binary talent.

I am so happy to be included on this exciting compilation for such a great cause. I love that music can be a catalyst to demand better standards in modern society, and Reclaim These Streets are doing great work to achieve that

We are thrilled to be a part of the New Moons Compilation. As women, and as mothers of daughters, we know how urgently important it is that the most vulnerable among us are respected and protected. So, let’s RECLAIM THESE STREETS!

– Deap Vally

The New Moons compilation have had over 15 releases and have previously championed some of the best emerging talent. This version is slightly different and has some of the hottest names in music right now. Ranging from up and coming bands to some of the most talked about artists in the industry, this eclectic release shows a community of female and minority artists coming together to make a change.

We are very flattered and delighted to be on this amazing compilation with some incredible female artists. Reclaim These Streets is a vital charity and we hope that this will bring much needed awareness and funding for an incredibly important cause

– Cruel Hearts Club

We are pumped to share our track ‘We Get What You Deserve’ on the New Moons Compilation album! Supporting nonprofits like Reclaim These Streets and shifting focus toward the greater good is what this track is all about – as well as flipping off the damn patriarchy, of course!

We are buzzing to be involved with the compilation, especially with 100% of profits going towards Reclaim These Streets. As LGBT people, street harassment is an experience we know far too well, and so we empathise strongly with the mission of Reclaim These Streets – their work is imperative.

– TELGATE

We were very excited when we were asked to feature on the album. Our track Petting Zoo calls out the unacceptable way that women and girls are STILL being sexually harassed and Reclaim These Streets stands for all women that are still walking home in fear. So we knew our song would be an ideal fit for this album! Rosa is such a fantastic charity and we hope our little song can make a difference to women everywhere

– IDestroy

With previous acts such as IDLES, Slaves, Fickle Friends and Puppy having their first release showcased on the compilation, the release has built and is further developing its reputation for showcasing talent across all genres. Earlier releases have had the iconic moon being merged with someone of note at the time including Donald Trump, Naomi Osaka and Jeremy Corbyn. However, this year sees Priti Patel’s face plastered across the front, highlighting the sheer ignorance from her and the government towards women’s safety. Created by Will Power (Bad Nerves), he has taken the original New Moons artwork style and added his own twist, fitting the genres of the donated tracks.
