This month Dead Writers will release their new single “Among Spirits”, the first track from their hotly anticipated self-titled debut EP due out later this year. The song is out 29 October along with a stained glass-tinted studio session video filmed on location at Grand Chapel Studios, where the band recorded their latest material.
With this atmospheric and majestic rock track, mixed by Mark Tucker (Robert Plant, PJ Harvey), the London-based outfit once again display their ability to create intense dynamics, contrast between darkness and light, and memorable chorus lines. The lyrics deal with the struggle of separation in personal relationships and express a desire for soul-searching, growth and independence.
’Astonishing’ – Nick Cave
’Suave and elegant rock’n’roll romance with a suitably sinister edge, these up-and-coming superstars will be underground for little longer’ – The Vapour Trail Records
Glimmers of Manic Street Preachers, The Cure and Queen can be heard in what is a sure leap forward in production and mystical appeal for the independent band, whose audience continues to grow steadily after each one of their arresting live shows. Dead Writers will perform at O2 Academy Islington on 2nd December 2021 supporting Bad Touch.
“Among Spirits” will be available on all digital platforms and YouTube on 29 October 2021.
