Maybe not a name we’ve covered a lot on these pages, but a musician more influential than The Beatles or the Rolling Stones has passed away. Little Richard was at the forefront of that new fangled “rock and roll” music in the 1950s, ploughing furrows where seeds would be planted for many other greats for years (decades!) to come.
Flamboyant, raucous, risk-taking and talented it’s fair to say that without him, and a handful of other acts of the time, we simply wouldn’t have had a staggering amount of the music we have now.
As always, our thoughts are with his colleagues, friends and family. As and always, let’s remember him with some of his music – which will most definitely never be forgotten!
