This, the band’s eighth studio album, features guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, drummer Eric Kretz and vocalist Jeff Gutt, who joined Stone Temple Pilots in 2017. The band produced the album and recorded the majority of it earlier this year at Kretz’s Bomb Shelter Studio.

Dean says the album’s title (Spanish for “loss”) foreshadows its somber mood. “You have to live it to write it, and this record is a reflection of where we’ve been recently.”

Pressure Pact

Today, Dutch hardcore upstarts Pressure Pact premiere their debut album Scared Off the Streets at No Echo!

The Humanimalistic raw energy of Pressure Pact’s debut album Scared Off the Streets is as uncompromised as their attitude: fuck-off driven and ready to cause some serious havoc!

Their filthy tones, fierce riffs and raging compositions have seeded them as one of today’s most punishing acts in the Dutch Hardcore Punk scene. They’re a powerful storm of aggression, gaining more reasons to be pissed off with every note they play, and stab you in the neck with a broken bottle.

‘Scared off the Streets’ has taken Pressure Pact’s stomping sound to a new level that not only punishes the listener with audible warfare, but also feeds them adrenaline with hooks and hard-hitting riffs. This is something that isn’t new to the the underground scene of The Netherlands, Belgium and the UK after they left both stages and the faces wrecked of punks, skins and even some metalheads at their vicious live shows.

Pre-orders are available via Bandcamp.

In this last part, Mr Strangler’s bloody odyssey comes to an end. He is in jail awaiting execution. This final Act is his testament. Faced with the imminent end of his life, he takes stock of his life and begins a dialogue with his death and enjoins everyone to continue his work… the work of God, because if God exists everything is his. And even the worst monsters are the children of God. There is no monsters in God’s eyes.

Ofdrykkja

Revered Swedish experimental black-metal band Ofdrykkja has released their third full-length album, Gryningsvisor, with AOP Records. The record is available for purchase on limited edition vinyl LP and streaming everywhere.

Formed eight years ago out of necessity to cope with agonizing depression, debilitating addiction and endless pain, Ofdrykkja has seen the light amongst the darkness for their latest record, which translates to “Ballads At Dawn.” After years of self-inflicted turmoil and suffering, the trio has found solace in healing and self-reflection which is heard on their latest evolution, Gryningsvisor.

Eight years ago, three darkness consumed men seeked to ventilate their seemingly endless struggle through addiction and mental illness conjured their first album “A life worth losing”. Drabbad was gunned down by police and spent a three year prison sentence, with most of the songs on their second album written from within the prison walls. Having hit rock bottom, the band sought a way out of that dark wilderness, releasing “Irrfärd” (which translates to ‘Aimless journey’). Following the release the band went their separate ways to pursue personal journeys that eventually led them to find peace in sobriety and awakening purpose, and ultimately to their forthcoming record, Gryningsvisor.

Sun of the Dying
