Announced on facebook (where else, these days?) a short while ago, Jupiter Falls’s bassist Dan has decided to step back from music and thus his position within the band. Statements him Jupiter Falls and Dan himself follow…
It is with a broken heart that we announce Dan has decided to step down as the low-end thumping brother of Jupiter Falls.
Having started as a tech with us on the Jake E Lee tour around France, when the position came for a new bass player we knew who we wanted to fill the void. Having alot of gig and playing experience already, he was a perfect fit for us.
We have watched Dan grow as a player, and more importantly as an adult over the last 3 years and we deeply appreciate everything he has done for us.
We have taken into consideration different options, but have decided to continue as a 4-piece. It’s alot more pressure on all parties in terms of playing ability, but we feel this is the way forward. Zach will be taking on the Bass, leaving Deano on his own with the 6-string department.
There is no bad blood involved in this decision that was made by Dan himself. He will take part in a few songs as a farewell when we play The Miners, Morley.
Thank you Dan for everything, we love you Brother♥
From Dan:
Itās with heavy heart that Iāve made the tough decision to leave Jupiter Falls.
I want to thank all the fans who have supported me in my 3 years Iāve spent with the lads. Weāve played some amazing shows in front of some amazing people and I will always cherish those memories. We have the best fans out there and I can only hope that the support grows for the band and one day Jay, Deano, Zach and Luke get the recognition they fully deserve.
I also obviously want to thank the lads for such a fun and exciting 3 years. Theyāve been there through thick and thin for me, made me laugh so hard I couldnāt breathe and helped me improve my abilities more than I could have ever imagined, I will be eternally grateful for this. This is more than just a band, itās a brotherhood Iām proud to be a part of and will continue to see the lads as such.
This isnāt due to anything besides me deciding to take a step back from my musical career. For how long? I donāt know but definitely for the foreseeable future.
I will continue to love and support the band and will certainly see you all at a gig somewhere.
Thank you once again to everyone for the love and support for the past 3 years.
Dan x
Obviously we wish Dan all the best on his future endeavours. His part in a a band which has become a house favourite here at Moshville Times will always be appreciated.
