Acclaimed, award-winning 2016 game DOOM is set to have its soundtrack committed to vinyl this summer. Obviously, this would not be reported on a metal site if the soundtrack wasn’t one of the most goddamn metal soundtracks ever.
It marks the first time composer Mick Gordon’s work with DOOM will be released physically and it’s set to be released on a variety of formats and packages listed below. The 31 track collection(s) of over two hours runtime – recorded at world-renowned Abbey Road Studios is available for pre-order now via Laced Records official website
The available formats include:
- Deluxe Double CD featuring a premium triple gatefold sleeve ($15)
- Double LP: Pressed on 180g blood red vinyl and complete with premium packaging, it features 20 favorite tracks selected by the developers ($35)
- Special Edition X4LP: Cut at the legendary Abbey Road Studios this four-disc vinyl in double hard slip cases feature premium printed inner sleeves with DOOM artwork. Pressed on black vinyl it includes the full DOOM soundtrack ($80)
- Special Limited Edition X4LP: The four-disc special edition comes with all the bells and whistles of the Standard Edition X4LP but is pressed on 180g blood red vinyl and adds the Deluxe Double CD, plus a custom turntable slipmat. The Special Edition is only available via pre-order for a 14-day window ending 2nd May 2018 direct from the Laced Records store only ($100)
