Album News: Powerwolf / Santtu Niemelä / Normandie / From Ashes To New

Album news from the (very) wide world of rock, metal, blues… you name it!

Powerwolf

Powerwolf releases the full album artwork and track listing of their new album. After teasing with appetizers in form of song titles and parts of the stunning album artwork, it’s time to see it in full! From a personal point of view, I hope they follow up the release with a proper UK tour or an appearance at Bloodstock rather than the usual single show in London.

The Sacrament Of Sin is full of purest lifeblood and heaviest passion! This new record overwhelms both with sophisticated songwriting and sheer aggression – and proves once more why Powerwolf are the one and only true high priests of heavy metal! Matthew Greywolf on the upcoming release:

We’re proud to finally unveil the album title along with the amazing cover artwork of The Sacrament of Sin. While we are in the final stage of mixing the album at Fascination Street Studios we can’t wait to unleash this monster and celebrate this new chapter together with all of you – expect nothing less but a mass more intense than ever, bringing some new elements to the liturgy while being as wild and wolfish as it could!

The full track listing of The Sacrament Of Sin offers a dozen metal psalms forged for all eternity:

  1. Fire & Forgiv
  2. Demons Are A Girl‘s Best Friend
  3. Killers With The Cross
  4. Incense And Iron
  5. Where The Wild Wolves Have Gone
  6. Stossgebet
  7. Nightside Of Siberia
  8. The Sacrament Of Sin
  9. Venom Of Venus
  10. Nighttime Rebel
  11. Fist By Fist (Sacralize Or Strike)
  12. Midnight Madonna (Bonus Track – only available at EMP and Napalm Records-Mailorder)

Santtu Niemelä

Finnish power/progressive metal musician Santtu Niemelä has entered the studio to record his new album Road To Hell that will be released this autumn. The album will be recorded at Flying Camel Studio.

Santtu Niemelä is a heavy metal artist from Loimaa, Finland. In December of 2016 he released his first cover album Boat on the River of Blood, where he made metal covers of some old pop/rock songs and songs from popular games and movies. In August 2017 Santtu released his second album Forgotten Souls.

Normandie

Swedish rock outfit Normandie have signed a deal with Easy Life Records, the label home to Lower Than Atlantis, Arcane Roots, Waterparks and more.

After a huge response following the release of their debut album Inguz, the quartet will release an extended edition of the critically acclaimed record on 13th April 2018 via the label. Inguz – Gold Edition will feature the original album tracks, follow up singles “Ghost” and “Pay For This” as well as alternative tracks that were recorded at Soundtrade Studios. The band comment:

We’re so happy to announce that we’ve signed to Easy Life Records! The label is incredibly supportive; it feels like we’re a family which means that we can focus on our music and know that we’re in good hands. To celebrate we have decided to release Inguz – Gold Edition, which features stripped versions of songs from our debut album Inguz. Later this year we’ll be releasing our second album, something we’ve been working on for a long time and something we are very, very proud of. We are extremely excited about what’s to come this year – so see you all very soon!

From Ashes To New

On Friday rap/rock outfit From Ashes To New shared four brand new songs, including “The Future” and “Nowhere To Run”, which are the latest two tracks taken from their upcoming album The Future out April 20th. They also released “Light It Up” and “Make Everything Okay” , which are available now exclusively online. This is the next taste of the new record from the US four-piece after revealing the tracks “My Name” and “Broken” as well as the video for the lead single “Crazy” last month (see it below).

Taking influences from metalcore, electronica, hip-hop and rap, From Ashes To New have created a modern and compelling rock sound that’s reminiscent of Linkin Park with their dual vocals taking centre stage. In 2016 they released their debut album Day One, which saw them breakout onto the rock scene and led to a deal with Eleven Seven. They’ve since embarked on a relentless touring schedule with the likes of Hollywood Undead and have built up a huge following of loyal fans.

The Future has been 2 years in the making, following the departure of two members from the group. Now consisting of founding frontman/rapper/programmer Matt Brandyberry, guitarist Lance Dowdle, new vocalist Danny Case, and drummer Mat Madiro, From Ashes To New are back, revamped and recharged. The new record features 11 tracks that expand on the bands diverse musical palette.

The album is available to pre-order.
