Starting off the week with another roundup of upcoming album releases…
Gaerea
Gaerea, who made waves in the underground with their self-titled debut EP, are back this year with a full length on Transcending Obscurity Records. Unsettling Whispers is a masterful album where they take their innovative brand of black metal and hone it to perfection. Listen to their first song, “Whispers”, below.
Unsettling Whispers will be released on gatefold LP, as a silver-embossed black box set, an 8-panel digipak CD with 20 page booklet and via digital on June 22nd, 2018.
Iron Fire
Power Metal Icons Iron Fire have announced the May 4 release of double-CD Dawn of Creation: Twentieth Anniversary on Crime Records. The album, which includes a special collection of demos, live tracks, covers, and three new songs, will be available on double-CD, digipak CD and digital formats.
Pre-orders for Dawn of Creation: Twentieth Anniversary (via Crime Records’ site) will be available April 6, along with the release of a lyric video and digital single. Those pre-ordering the album will be rewarded with an official bootleg live recording of Iron Fire’s 2007 Stuttgart show.
Vampillia
Japanese prolific noise experimentalists Vampillia return with a 4-track ep titled Happiness Brought By Endless Sorrow, which is set for release as digital download through Temple Of Torturous on April 18th to coincide with the band’s performance at Rodburn Festival. A vinyl edition is planned for later this year also on Temple Of Torturous.
The band have released “Winter Ash” into the wild as a sample of what’s to come.
Two Are One
The German duo Two Are One released their only CD, A Question of Time, back in 1995. The project band includes Klaus Henatsch (vocals and keyboards) and Martina Maschke (vocals).
Since then the album has been nigh on impossible to source… but no more! This month, the record is to be made available via Minotauro Records with two bonus tracks “Changes” and “He Broke My Wings on that Christmas Night.”
It is available to pre-order now.
