So many albums to tell you about! Here’s another small selection to consider adding to your collection…
Pop Evil
American rock band Pop Evil are set to release their fifth studio album Pop Evil in March 2018, via Entertainment One. The new album sees British drummer Hayley Cramer join the band full time. For the album, the band brought on veteran producer Kato Khandwala and went into the studio in June 2017. The band spent most of the summer in Nashville, TN at Studio A in Sound Emporium Studios and finished up the album at Sphere Studios in Los Angeles, CA in October 2017.
Late 2017 saw the band release the first single from the album, “Waking Lions”. Vocalist Leigh Kakaty says:
This is a Dawn of a New Day for Pop Evil. The new lineup feels like a whole new chapter for us. We could not be more proud to lead off this new album cycle with “Waking Lions”, sending a positive message to our fans.
The Koch Marshall Trio
Toby Arrives is the debut album from The Koch Marshall Trio. The trio blends the explosive guitar manipulations of Greg Koch, the groove-centric, power-pocket playing of his son Dylan on drums (who share many telepathic musical moments) and the glorious, Hammond organ stylings of the uber-talented Toby Marshall. Greg’s compositions are properly portrayed in the blues drenched, funk, chicken-fried, gospelly, jazz-rock panorama in which they were conceived.
Check out a sample from the album, due for release on Feb 23rd.
Savage Machine
Danish old school heavy metal band Savage Machine has launched a crowdfunding campaign for a vinyl edition of their forthcoming debut album Abandon Earth, out on CD/Digital on January 19, 2018. Savage Machine’s critically acclaimed debut album deserves to spin on your turntable.
The LP version will be gatefold cover with 8 page booklet on 180g black vinyl. The cover artwork is by Mario E. Lopez M. (Iron Maiden, Megadeth, King Diamond, Metal Church).
The bands have this to say on the album:
With the release of our new album Abandon Earth on January 19th, we’re beyond excited to get your feedback on our efforts this past year, and we can’t wait for it to hit the all the shelves, stages and streaming services out there. We want to spread the word about Savage Machine, and let headbangers around the world know that true heavy metal lives on forever! Sadly, this time around, it does not live forever on vinyl. Yet!
This is where you, our fellow enthusiasts, can help us a great deal and we’ll return the gesture thousandfold! By pre-ordering Abandon Earth on vinyl we can guarantee that this becomes a reality, and we’ll sing your praises as well as sign all copies to show you our immense gratitude. We know that several of you out there would prefer to give the album its first spin on the best possible quality, and with the time we have spent on this album, of course, you should be able to! Sadly, we’ve had to prioritize, and vinyl was simply a cost we’ve had to cut from the initial release plan.
Bloodshot Dawn
Out via Hostile Media on 12th January 2018, Bloodshot Dawn‘s Reanimation features prominent guests including Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore), Paul Wardingham, Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams, The Faceless), Mendel Bij De Leij (Aborted).
