Transcending Obscurity are an Indian metal label who’ve been around since 2004, focussing originally on the continent’s burgeoning number of death metal bands, but nowadays playing host to many international acts. They’ve spread out over recent years to include a couple of sub-labels around Asia, but their plans in 2017 are to consolidate into one organisation. They’re also hoping to bring out cassette and vinyl releases sometime during the year! Great to see a business doing so well, and being able to expand.
Mind, it’s not surprising if you have so many great acts on your books… and a billion or so people in your population.
They’ve just released a free 55-track compilation you can download from Bandcamp. All of the acts are signed to Transcending Obscurity. In addition, they’ve just released their first piece of merch – a t-shirt designed by Mark Riddick of Fetid Zombie. We’ve ordered one!
