Martyr de Mona to perform last four dates

Martyr de Mona the end tour 2016Martyr de Mona have announced this morning that the next four dates they are scheduled to play will be their last. We’ve been lucky enough to feature them a few times over the last couple of years and wish them all the best. The band’s statement is below along with the dates.

We regret to announce that these 4 shows will be our last. Unfortunately, after much discussion, we have arrived at the realisation that Martyr de Mona can no longer continue at the level we have become accustomed to. For many reasons, far too many to list here, we feel it is for the best that we call it a day now, rather than carry on operating at anything less than 110%. We don’t want to cheat the fans or ourselves.

Each setback, and there have been many (!), seems to knock us back 6 months. We have struggled to get into any kind of routine which has impacted on our creativity and output, meaning we have been stagnant for the last couple of years. We have tried to keep things moving but for one reason or another, it just isn’t happening.

We’ve had many highlights over the last 10 years and these will always overshadow the negatives. We will never forget playing Bloodstock last year or headlining the Wulfrun Hall the year before. We’ve met some amazing people and shared the stage with hundreds of immensely talented bands. The Midlands metal scene is something truly special and it’s been a pleasure to be a part of it for so long.

We would like to thank the fans who have stuck with us and made the last 10 years possible, the producers who have contributed to our music and video releases, the many promoters who have given us so many opportunities, the radio stations who have played our music, the photographers and press who have captured some of our finest moments and, last but not least, our management team who have sacrificed so much over the years to kick our arses and make all the good stuff happen!

We hope to see you at one of our final shows. The Midlands Metal Crusade on 26th November will mark 10 years and 10 days since the first Martyr de Mona gig, it’s gonna be a special and emotional night, it would be amazing to see you all one last time!
