Album News: The Raven Age, Third Place, Gatecreeper

More stuff to make you moist (in a musical way)…

The Raven Age - Darkness Will RiseThe Raven Age

Not many bands get to announce their debut album live on stage while supporting Iron Maiden, but hey – if the chance comes up… The Raven Age will release Darkness Will Rise in December this year. Check out the video of the announcement as well as a live rendition of “Angel in Disgrace” below.

Third Place - Rise of ChaosThird Place

Montreal four-piece Third Place are to release a new EP, Rise of Chaos, on August 12th. When talking about Rise Of Chaos, bassist/vocalist Corey stated:

This EP was a very different process than the last album. We ruled a NO BARRIERS process and made sure to go with the flow. We wrote 24 demos and with help from our producer Luc Tellier we picked six to become songs…hard decisions but were positive we made the right song choices. A change of drummer during the writing, recording process made everything that much scarier. Though it worked out in the end, Steven is an amazing drummer. All in all we are very proud of Rise of Chaos.

Gatecreeper - Sonoran DepravationGatecreeper

Arizona death metal newcomers Gatecreeper have announced their savage debut album Sonoran Depravation. Having devastated the underground since their formation less than three years ago, Gatecreeper now unleash their first full-length, produced by Ryan Bram at Homewrecker Studios and mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, Black Breath) at God City Studios. Sonoran Depravation tears and chugs through 30+ minutes of crusty, doom-soaked death metal at its most infectious and uncompromising with a massive sound that calls to mind the classic Swedish buzz-saw attack of Dismember and Grave mixed with the impeccable groove of Obituary and Bolt Thrower.
