Album News: Brujeria, Heathen Beast, The Van T’s, The Wounded Kings, Killing The Messenger

More forthcoming album news than you can stake a tin-foil wrapped stick at…

Brujeria - Pocho AztlanBrujeria

Extreme metallers Brujeria will release their fourth full length album, entitled Pocho Aztlan, on September 16th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The release will be followed by a U.S. tour this October alongside Cattle Decapitation and Piñata Protest.

Pocho Aztlan is the band’s first release since Brujerizmo was released in 2000 via Roadrunner. It was recorded over the course of many years and at several studios around the globe. The end result was mixed by Russ Russell. Check out a promo for the song “Viva Presidente Trump!” which was released as a single recently.

Heathen Beast - Rise of the Saffron EmpireHeathen Beast

Heathen Beast have released their last ever album via Transcending Obscurity. Rise of the Saffron Empire was released in April, but will mark the swansong of the Indian black metal act. Heathen Beast are perhaps the only band from the country playing black metal and employing Indian classical/traditional/folk instruments despite an acerbic content. ‘Carvaka Samkhya’, the only point of contact, has ended the band under mysterious circumstances and all evidence of their anti-racist government stance has been removed. Whether they have been threatened by unlawful elements is unknown but is a strong probability. The band would want the music to remain alive and here’s a last chance at reaching out, hoping that their unique music is heard far and wide.

You can get the album via their bandcamp page.

The VanT's band 192The Van T’s

Glaswegian alt-rock four piece The Van T’s are proud to announce the official release of their wonderful EP, A Coming of Age, out now via Bloc+Music and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.

The build up to the release has been nothing short of spectacular for the young band with support coming from a plethora of industry tastemakers. EP track “35mm” premiered on Consequence of Sound with the song now available to stream on the band’s Soundcloud page. Single “Blood Orange” premiered on Huw Stephens BBC Introducing show with the video premiering on Noisey as The Van T’s embraced full 90’s inspired MTV2 visuals, edited sharply, fitting the high octane nature of the song perfectly.

The Wounded Kings

The Wounded Kings, doom metal warriors from the South West of England, are due to release their fifth full length album, Visions in Bone, on August 26th via Candlelight / Spinefarm Records.

Visions in Bone – jointly produced / engineered by Chris Fielding and the band at Mwnci Studios in Wales and Skyhammer Studios in Cheshire, UK – swirls and flows with vintage tones and smoky vibes, with the themes of death, despair and redemption very much to the fore.

Formed in 2004, The Wounded Kings proudly uphold Britain’s occult heritage via a unique blend of spectral doom and psychedelic horror, creating a desolate, end-of-the-world vibe filled with suffocating heaviness.

Killing the Messenger - Fuel to the FireKilling The Messenger

Killing The Messenger announced their signing with David Ellefson’s EMP Label Group back in May, and will be releasing their debut full length Fuel to the Fire on July 22nd via the EMP: Underground imprint. Fuel to the Fire is the follow up to their widely successful self-released debut EP What Matters Most which brought the band to the forefront of the San Diego metal scene.
