Andy Black has dropped the first single from his upcoming debut album, “We Don’t Have To Dance”.
This track from the Black Veil Brides frontman’s solo project has plenty to keep fans of his day job satisfied. The infectious riffs, euphoric chorus, and, of course, the man’s huge vocals are all present and correct.
That said, if this song is anything to go by, Andy Black will be a very different beast from Black Veil Brides. For starters, it’s poppier than anything in the band’s back catalogue (except for maybe “In The End”). Not that this is a bad thing at all: almost Bowie-esque keyboards and a guitar solo Billy Idol would envy bring some fun, retro textures to proceedings. It’s also testament to Mr Black’s talent for writing hook-ridden anthems that refuse to leave your head for days (seemingly a lost art to many modern rock artists). The whole track is so bouncy and catchy, it’s guaranteed to be an instant hit on rock club dancefloors: not to mention a definite highlight of Andy Black’s live set.
