Teethraiser – not a band, but a good cause

Teethraiser logo 192Moshville Times endorses a few charities and appeals insofar as they’re for great causes and I reckon they need a bit of extra publicity and deserve some donations.

Add to this list Teethraiser. A young woman suffers during an abusive relationship to the point where four of her teeth are punched back into her mouth by her “boyfriend”. She suffers in silence and, after much comfort from her friends, eventually goes to the police and seeks reparation… only by then, too much time had gone past since the incident for her to claim from the guilty party.

One of her teeth has just had to be removed. Another will be on the way out soon, the other two may survive a little longer.

A friend has decided that she deserve the smile she once had and is raising money to have the teeth fully removed and new teeth grafted in place. Sadly, this costs £2500 per tooth. Ouch.

As well as raising funds for these procedures, Teethraiser aims to raise the profile of domestic violence, and emphasise to people that a) it exists and b) they shouldn’t suffer in silence.

Please check out their gofundme page and – at the very least – give them a “like” on facebook and spread the word. The link to the rock/metal world – as if it needs one – is that all involved in events are part of the scene in Yorkshire. The details have been confirmed to me by several friends I still have down there as completely true, and the fundraising is legit.
