Within the Ruins announce new LP/single details

Within the Ruins - PhenomenaNew England powerhouse Within the Ruins have announced the release date of their highly anticipated upcoming LP Phenomena, due out July 21 of this year via eOne Music. To celebrate the news, the metal veterans have debuted an all-new song and lyric video titled “Gods Amongst Men.”

Phenomena follows on from the band’s well-received Elite, released 2013 and described by Decibel Magazine as “brutal yet harmonious, two traits few bands nowadays can handle simultaneously”, and by Metal Hammer as “precise, brutal and bursting with great songs”.

Discontent with resting on their laurels, the band were keen to push on from the success of Elite. As guitarist Joe Cocchi explains:

“When we released our last album, we felt like we had finally found what we were wanting to do since we started the band. We’ve been known for technical, faster metal. But it’s the type of stuff that’s tough for someone to listen to if they’re not into a very, very specific sub-genre. The challenge we gave ourselves with Phenomena was to come up with something even better in a shorter amount of time, to really take advantage of the momentum.”

This summer also looks set to be busy for Within the Ruins as they travel the USA, first with Lorna Shore, and then joining the likes of Dying Fetus, Morbid Angel and Goatwhore on this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour.
