News: Saltatio Mortis / Grave Digger / Alunah

Saltatio Mortis support Red Noses!

The past few months have been turbulent for Saltatio Mortis, exciting and successful at the same time.

In August 2013 their album Das schwarze Einmaleins was hitting top of the German Media Control Album Charts, there were multiple festival shows, two headlining tours and television appearances.

In March, shock hit the band: band member Jean Méchant suffered a brain hemorrhage and had to spend some time in the hospital. But the countless wishes of the fans made him able to share the stage with the rest of the band just about a month later. The sunny and shady sides of life encouraged Saltatio Mortis in their decision to use their popularity to help people. Therefore, the entire 8- piece band signed a huge banner at their album release show which was used at last year’s Summer Breeze festival, for an auction on Ebay benefiting the Red Noses organization. With the power of humour, the RED NOSES clowns bring laughter to sick and suffering people, to empower them in hard times and give courage for life.

Whether a Saltatio Mortis fan or just a supporter of a good cause – all members look forward to each bidder! Click here for the auction, which runs until June 14th 2014: http://cgi.ebay.at/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=371075890725

Grave Digger - wineSpecial metal wine by Grave Digger!

Grave Digger have been doing their own thing for many years, now the German Heavy Metal band presents its own high quality metal wine! Full-bodied, strong and tasty!

To order please visit Metal Wines.

The wine is also available in an exclusive Special Edition with the upcoming album Return Of The Reaper (July 14th 2014 in the UK on Napalm Records) delivered in a coffin with signed autograph card, guitar pick of Alex Ritt and wine.

Axel Ritt on their own wine & working with 666 Metal Wines :

“For us it was important to provide the local aspect. It makes no sense to rent a winery anywhere in the world just to stick our label on it and otherwise have no relationship to the product. We decided on a winery region which is located very close to the band’s location. Head of the winery, Michel Schott has not only a great affinity to Metal, he also looks just like a metalhead and is singer of metal band. Therefore, the intersection between band and winery was much larger than it’s normally the case.”

AlunahAlunah complete recording on new album!

The English Psychedelic Stoner band Alunah has completed the recording for their upcoming third studio album (September 2014 on Napalm Records)!

Singer & guitarist Sophie Day on the upcoming album:

“After an intense and inspiring week spent at Priory Recording Studios in Canwell with Greg Chandler, we have now finished recording our third album. Having worked with us on our past albums as well as fronting the majestic Esoteric, Greg shares our vision and understands where we are coming from in terms of sound and songwriting. We have spent the last few months writing and reworking the songs over and over again until we were all happy, and have pushed ourselves in terms of playing/singing technique. To hear the songs sounding as we envisioned them is wonderful, and hugely rewarding. Tony Reed will begin the mixing and mastering process in the next few days, and we cannot wait for you all to hear the end result”

Check out some rare photos of the band while working in the studio.
