Dead City Ruins – quick catch-up

I featured Dead City Ruins as a New Band of the Day a few weeks back after seeing them opening for Skid Row and Ugly Kid Joe. On the back of that, I got an email from one of their senior promoters… guitarist Sean’s mum! Hey, even hardened rockers have a mum at home. Who else is going to wash those sweaty shirts?

She’s been keeping me up to date with a few things the band have been up to and pointed me at a post they made recently on their facebook page. I’ll finish with that – it’s a great quote from the boys who have managed to tour all of Europe off their own backs with no deal or sponsorship.

But first to announce that Skid Row and Ugly Kid Joe hit Australia soon. And guess which band’s been asked – by them – to open for them at every show? Well done, guys. Hope to see you back in the UK again soon!

“Last night in Udine was the last show for this amazing tour. We played 33 shows in 40 days in 13 countries, driving, sleeping and eating in our ever faithful ‘blue bastard II’ tour van, “a dumpster on wheels” as Rachael Bolan called it.

We have sold over 1000 records, all of our merch, been arrested. And pulled over by passport control more times than I can remember, lost another passport, shared the stage with our heroes and most importantly. Had a great f*cking time!!

To all those who have and continue to support us, words cannot express our gratitude and love. Keep supporting music and the venues, we’ll see you at the bar!!”
