RIP Jon Torres (Heathen et al.)

RIP Jon

RIP Jon

Again, apologies for laziness. Story lifted from metalinsider.net, all credit to them. Also, blabbermouth.net have a more in-depth article. Got kids to drop at school before I rush to work!

Jon Torres, former bassist for Heathen, has died, according to multiple sources. No official statements have been made regarding cause of death, but The Gauntlet says information is surfacing alleging he died Monday (2) of heart failure.

Torres left Heathen in 2011. No statement had been made by the band on his death prior to the posting of this article, but their official Facebook page shows Torres as the main cover photo. Holy Grail released a statement on their Facebook page stating “Our thoughts go out deeply to Jon Torres’ friends and family and to Heathen. Very devastating news to all who love metal.”

The Bay Area death metal band formed in 1984 and broke up in 1992 to return in 2001. Torres came on board in 2004 and recorded the The Evolution of Chaos album with the band. He’d also played in Laaz Rockit and Ulysses Siren.
