Famous Rock ‘n Rollers Who Love Bingo

‘Celebrities- they’re just like us’ is an adage that sometimes seems farfetched, especially when us mere mortals see our favourite rock ‘n rollers smashing guitars in sold-out stadiums or jet-setting to every corner of the planet to meet with screaming fans.

That world isn’t quite relatable to the majority of us, but apparently, one thing we do have in common with our favourite musicians is the much-loved game of bingo. Bingo has been around for centuries and can be traced back to 1530 Italy. Nowadays, it can be enjoyed online or at a local bingo club by everyone from my mum to Mick Jagger, apparently.

Mick Jagger

Yes, the Rolling Stones frontman is a massive bingo lover. When he’s not performing in sold-out arenas around the world, he is known to host lavish bingo parties at his Richmond home. There’s even a rumour he plays online bingo, too.

If you want to get the moves like Jagger and play your own game, you can find bingo near me. These local bingo clubs have a main hall for hosting bingo events like Breakfast Bingo and Evening Main Event. They also have slot machines, food and drinks, and events like BADA Bingo, a 90s-themed bingo party.

Bono

Before making it big with the band U2, Irish singer Bono made ends meet by serving tables at his local bingo hall, where he first learned the ropes of the game. Since then, he has been spotted playing bingo games to this day. He once had a stake in Mr. Pussey’s Café De Luxe in Dublin where he brought along fellow celebrity friends like Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington to join in on a game of bingo. It is said that Bono uses his winnings for many charities and donations.

Sharon Osbourne

Not a rock ‘n roller herself, but still a heavy hitter in the world of metal, Sharon Osbourne is a self-proclaimed bingo lover. Not only is she married to Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, but she also managed her husband’s band and solo career, as well as other successful musical acts including Electric Light Orchestra, Smashing Pumpkins, Motorhead, and Slade. Osbourne is a regular judge on The X Factor and America’s Got Talent and the masses loved her on larger than life, hit reality TV show The Osbournes.

Powerhouse Osbourne has also written five successful books as well as shared her love for bingo by starting her own online bingo website and being a charity bingo caller. She even wore a dress on the The X Factor that she claimed was purchased with her winnings. Her husband also has an Ozzy Osbourne-themed slot machine featuring heavy metal chords, skulls, and bats.

On a Final Note

The next time you hear anyone suggest that bingo is just a game for retirees, remind them of these bingo-loving rock legends: Mick Jagger, Bono, and the Osbournes.
