TikTok Signs FIFA Esports Organization Tundra Ahead Of New Global Series

FIFA esports outfit Tundra has signed with TikTok. The China-based app has become a pretty controversial pick in the United States but hasn’t experienced half as much opposition on the European scene, leaving them free to nick a deal with the organization.

The London team hasn’t been around that long, with just over a year under their belts. However, they’ve managed to put together a team of FIFA professionals, which includes back-to-back Xbox world champion Musaed Al-Dossary and Anton Klenov, a Russian interactive football cup champion.

Tundra previously landed a deal with apparel company Kappa and this latest one puts them in the big leagues when it comes to partnerships. The deal means TikTok will have its logo on the team’s jerseys, something which should enhance its advertising prospects.

“FIFA has over 3.3.bn views on TikTok to date,” Tundra co-founder Michael Munro stated. “The appetite for esports, and particularly FIFA content is already proven, so the partnership is a natural fit and unique in that it flows from the digital through to the physical.”

FIFA has been one of the most popular titles on the esports scene and, with the latest installment, FIFA 21 now out, fans, viewers, and bettors should have their fill. Esports betting is pretty huge, having moved leaps and bounds over the last 4-5 years and bookmakers expect to see plenty of new folks looking to open accounts.

You can’t get FIFA 21 bets just yet as the game’s only just been released, but EA has already announced a new season for the title, having released details for its FIFA 21 Global Series. The campaign will see the FIFA eWorld Cup tournament restructured and several new regions have been made eligible for competition. The publisher’s two-day Twitch Rivals Preseason Invitational took place earlier this month and there’s a whole lot going down prior to the beginning of the real competitive period.

At the moment, though, gaming and esports fans could grab odds pertaining to the likes of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and League of Legends.

At the time of writing, bet365 had odds of 13/8 going on favorites Top Esports to win the LoL World Championship. DAMWON Gaming was 15/8, JD Gaming was 7/1, Suning was 8/1 and Gen G was 12/1.

Where the TikTok deal is concerned, the app’s developers await their fate as it’s currently facing a ban in the U.S due to its China links. The ban was supposed to have been in place by September but has been pushed back because of a court injunction.
