Al-Namrood – “Bat Al Tha ar Nar Muheja”
Not a new track, this one’s from 2014, but it just came our way and I had to include it. Extreme / death metal with a Middle-eastern tinge, this genuinely sounds original. The band themselves are from Saudi Arabia hence the traditional influences.
Mason Hill – “Now You See Me”
Local (to us) favourites Mason Hill have released their first ever music video… and here it is for you to enjoy. Based in Glasgow, this young rock band have been making serious waves around the UK in the past year. From appearing at Ramblin’ Man, winning the UK’s Highway To Hell battle of the bands competition, appearing at Hard Rock Hell and Winterstorm, selling out the famous Cathouse Rock Club in Glasgow (with a month to go, a feat only achieved by Black Stone Cherry and Anthrax in recent years), blockbuster supports with Inglorious and Airbourne, to a blistering appearance on the Boardie Takeover Stage at Download.
Debut album due next year.
Hypochristmutreefuzz – “Clammy Hands”
Hailing from Ghent, Belgium Hypochristmutreefuzz are at the forefront of Ghent’s noise-rock scene. Other than a secret weapon for passionate Scrabble-fanatics (their name comes from an avant-garde jazz piece by Misha Mengelberg) the band, formed around Belgian musician Ramses Van den Eede, is a frontal attack to all of the senses, thanks to a crushing groove, the use of a power drill as an instrument and inconveniently lovable bone-shattering and shamanic vocals.

Dendera – “Blood Red Sky”
An in-house favourite, Dendera recently released a new EP entitled Part One – Blood Red Sky. Here’s the title track. The EP is available on major digital platforms or from their webstore on CD.
Russkaja – “Hey Road”
Bouncy Cyrillic ska/punk/rock band Russkaja have a new album Kosmopoliturbo out on August 4th. Believe me, as soon as we get it, it’ll be getting reviewed! Here’s the first hint of what to expect. And will someone get these guys on a full UK tour?
City of Ashes – “Save Me”
Ending on a lighter note with alt-rockers City of Ashes . “Save Me” comes from their sophomore album Rise, which is available for purchase now.
