Having first met Ryan a couple of years ago at Dead of Winter, I have since fallen in love with everything that he writes. If old-school or horror-influenced death metal is your thing, everything he touches turns to gold, with fans of Mortician, Impetigo, Autopsy, and Tenebro sure to appreciate his influences.
Ryan keeps himself busy with a number of projects; from the old-school sound of Seven Doors and Born Undead, and the horror-influenced Grave Ghoul, to the 70s and 80s keyboard-laden horror of his project, Freudstein, there will be something for you to like.
With a number of things on the horizon, it was the right time to have a brief chat with Ryan that ended up lasting two hours. We talked about his upbringing in music, his black metal bands, all of his projects, and his upcoming touring plans. This gentle giant was an absolute pleasure to talk to, and I even got him on my radio show at www.moshville.radio for a second time as he still had that much more to say.
Check out Ryan Wills, embrace his passion for music, and appreciate the quality on show here.
