Continuing our run of letting you know a little more about as many of the bands on at Bloodstock 2025 as we possibly can before you get a chance to see them, we have Crown Solace. This bunch play on the EMP Stage on the Saturday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re scattered across the UK! Callum and Val are up in Aberdeen, North-East Scotland, Pete hails from Exeter, and Harry is based near Peterborough.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Crown Solace originally came together during the pandemic in 2020, but things really kicked into gear when Pete joined us at the end of 2021. That’s when we found our sound and released our debut single Horizons in 2022.
Where does the name of the band come from?
The name is a subtle nod to the time we were formed — during the Covid lockdowns. “Crown” is a reference to coronavirus and “Solace” to the isolation and introspection of that period.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We’re a male-fronted modern symphonic metal band — blending cinematic elements with heavy riffs and soaring vocals. We think Pete’s voice really sets us apart and gives the band a unique identity in the scene.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Believe it or not, Bloodstock is our debut live show and we couldn’t ask for a better stage to kick things off. We’re beyond excited to finally bring our modern symphonic sound to a live audience.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Absolutely, we’ve all been here multiple times as fans. It’s genuinely one of the best festivals in the world, and the atmosphere is unmatched. That’s why it’s such an honour to be playing our first ever show here.
When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?
We got an email from Simon back in February and honestly, we couldn’t believe it at first! It still feels surreal.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
We’ll definitely be playing our latest single Rise Up, which just dropped, as well as tracks from our debut EP Animus, released in 2023. It’ll be the first time we perform these songs live, so we can’t wait to see how people react.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Lacuna Coil and Kublai Khan are high on our list and one of the great things about Bloodstock is how close all the stages are, so we’re planning to catch as much as possible!
What are you working on at the moment?
We’ve got a lot in the pipeline, we’re working on the follow-up to Rise Up and lining up more live dates. This is just the beginning.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Gojira’s headline set in 2018, the light show was absolutely insane. We’re buzzing to see them again this year.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Can’t beat a last-minute Jägerbomb to get the energy up! Works every time.
