Our regular run-down of as many of the upcoming Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! Black Hole Divers play the New Blood stage on the Saturday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are born and raised in different regions of Brazil, but living our lives in Ireland.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Basically a year, let’s say we started jamming at the end of 2022.
Where does the name of the band come from?
From snorkelling in Gargantua.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
As a crossover band, we swim between fast and melodic music, flirting with elements of thrash and hardcore punk, resulting in aggressive rhythms followed by personal conflicts and social ways of thinking. Our songs are results of jams and controversial visions of music.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Well, I guess something that could help us would be a different nuance of genre, since most of the public from the festival are deeply into metal, people could get an odd entertainment from us.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
None of our members had the chance to attend the festival yet.
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We won Ireland’s M2tM.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
Fucking diabolical.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Same energetic and weird stuff as usual. Craic is guaranteed as we’ll be playing every song released until now.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
We are playing on the same day as Crypta, and we’re looking forward to catching them live, so hopefully we’ll be able to see them!
What are you working on at the moment?
We are completely focused in BOA at the moment, but also working in another two other tracks that we are going to record at TrackMix studios when back in Ireland.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
I guess it was in the M2tM finals when looking ahead we could see an absolute carnage and people crowd surfing while cheering us, simply unreal.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Water.
