Road to Bloodstock 2023: InVisions

Our regular run-down of as many of the upcoming Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! InVisions play the Sophie Lancaster stage on the Sunday…

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

We are from the lovely lands of Yorkshire! Around the York/Leeds area.

How long have you been playing together as a band?

We played our first show together in 2016, so we’ve been playing live music together for 7 years now! Which is insane to think it’s been that long already!

Where does the name of the band come from?

It came from the wonderful place that is Lucas’ brain! Me, Al, and Lucas were having a chat and just spit-balling ideas. Lucas threw that one into the mix and it stuck.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

Our music has a range of things – catchy choruses, catchy riffs, breakdowns, and whole bunch of emotion. We want to make it enjoyable for anybody listening but also want it to be a journey.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?

We like to create a fun atmosphere with high energy. We want everyone to feel included when we are playing a live show.

Have you played Bloodstock before? If so, when?

We have not and we are super stoked to have the opportunity. Bloodstock is an awesome festival that people speak highly of so we are buzzing to be a part of it this year.

How/when did you find out that you’d be playing the SOPHIE stage?

We found out in September last year through our manager and we obviously immediately said “yes”! There’s such an important message behind this stage and it’s an honour to be asked to play it.

What sort of setlist can we expect?

We will have a mixture of sing-alongs and bouncy riffs. Expect a lot of moshing and headbanging topped with an excellent time.

What are you working on at the moment?

Currently working on the best music InVisions have written to date. Extremely exciting times ahead!

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

Over the summer, we were on tour with our friends in Aviana and our drummer, Josh, went on stage impersonating the singer of Aviana, Joel, as they look very similar. Must be something to do with being bald.

What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?

I’m quite sensible when on tour, so on a show day I mainly drink water. Quite boring, but sensible for a vocalist. If there’s a Red Bull in the fridge, I’ll shotgun that if I’m feeling super tired.
