Our regular run-down of as many of the upcoming Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! Apathy play the New Blood stage on the Friday…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are based in Devon although our members hail from all across the South West.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
The band formed in November 2021 between Tom (lead guitar) and Oscar (rhythm guitar + vocals), with other members joining in early 2022 (Seth on drums) and early 2023 (Isaac on bass).
Where does the name of the band come from?
We thought the word “apathy” was a good fit for the vibe and emotions surrounding our songs, as well as it being memorable.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We like to focus on combining each member’s very individual music tastes to form modern metal soundscapes with a raw, unprocessed edge.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
A high-energy and inclusive show where we take the audience through a journey of different emotions. We all like to focus on making the show an experience for us as friends and the crowd as family, no matter the size.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
We all attended bloodstock last year and thought it was awesome and had a great time, plus the festival itself was so well run and enjoyable throughout.

Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We won the Devon and Cornwall regional heat of M2TM.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realized you were heading to Bloodstock?
Mind blowing and completely surreal.
What sort of setlist can we expect? We have put together our heaviest setlist.
Expect the unexpected!
Which other bands do you most hope you’re not squished up next to so you can see them play?
Definitely Fit For An Autopsy, Knocked Loose, and any of the headliners.
What are you working on at the moment?
Right now we’re grinding away in the studio working on an album.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Playing the Exeter Phoenix with Born Of Osiris and Oceans Ate Alaska was for sure a crazy night to remember.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
A range of Monster Energy, coffee, the occasional pint, and good old water.
