We had a breather last year, but again we’re aiming to bring you a little bit of info about as many bands as possible who will be featuring at this year’s Bloodstock Festival. Hitting the Jagermeister Stage on the Thursday (alongside Milliner, Master Charger and others, due to the extra day being added) are Axiom…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are all from Birmingham.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Four long years now.
Where does the name of the band come from?
We batted around ideas for band names for ages and our maths nerd of a bassist threw in Axiom and it just stuck.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We are a blend of a few different styles, from Jazz to Metal to Prog, so while we don’t have a vocalist musically there’s usually something most people can relate to, and a fusion of stuff that’s kinda new and exciting.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
There’s no lyrics to get in the way. Plus we tend to throw ourselves around – it’ll be fun to watch at least!
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Nope – this will be our first time.

When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?
We were asked if we’d like to play in mid April 2021, and obviously we said yes!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
We’ll be playing a bunch of new material, for the first time, and in fact our first show since the beginning of the pandemic! So it’s likely to be pretty energetic.
Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Netherhall, Insurgent, Womanawar, Heavy Duty, Devin Townsend, Conjurer.
What are you working on at the moment?
We’ve been working towards our next release. Whilst the pandemic has sucked, it has given us lots of time to write and refine new songs.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
A day before a show Josh managed to throw boiling pasta water over himself and then played with second-degree burns on his stomach. Pasta was tasty though.

What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Plain old H20 for us – gotta be well hydrated to keep everyone entertained.
