#RoadToBOA2021 – King Creature

It’s that time of year where we set out to interview as many of the Sophie, New Blood, and Jager bands as we can in the lead-up to one of the most anticipated festivals of the year, Bloodstock. Answering our questions here are King Creature who are playing the Sophie stage on Friday.

Simple things first–where are you guys from?

We are from Cornwall, next to England.

How long have you been playing together as a band?

We formed the band in 2013.

Where does the name of the band come from?

It was a combination of two names we had in a list of potential band names.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

Heavy rock/metal with catchy melodies, heavy as a freight train riffs n’ scorching solos.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?

They are gonna see 4 guys create a sh*tstorm of energy that will entertain your eyes and your ears.

Have you played Bloodstock before? If so, when?

Yes, we played the Jäger stage in 2014.

How/when did you find out that you’d be playing the SOPHIE stage?

We found out via our agent that we had been asked to play and we can’t fu**ing wait.

What sort of setlist can we expect?

An action-packed heavy setlist that’ll wake even the most hungover metal head n get ‘em back in the mood to party!

Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?

There are too many to name them all!

What are you working on at the moment?

We are currently writing and recording demos for our next album.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

We once got in trouble for throwing a DJ at a metal festival into the crowd for playing crap tunes, before realizing we had no clue how to work the decks!

What drink do you throwback to get yourself fired up before going on stage?

We all love an ice-cold Stella!
